Dr. Salayta started our dental practice in early 2019, and he has been practicing dentistry for over a decade. He says that there are so many rewarding things about being a dentist in Jenks, but by far the best aspect is being able to help people improve their health, get out of pain, and restore their confidence at the same time. Always smiling and positive, he’s often able to surprise patients thanks to his natural ability to remember even the smallest details about them and their dental treatments from appointment to appointment. All in all, he’s eager to show you just how comfortable a trip to the dentist can be.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Salayta chose to pursue a career in dentistry because he is passionate about helping others, plus he likes working with his hands. Dentistry is a unique blend of science and art that always appealed to him, and he was fortunate enough to grow up around the profession thanks to his dad being a dentist. He saw firsthand how the field would allow him to have a significant and lasting impact on people’s lives, so he knew it was the path for him.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Salayta completed his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Neurobiology at the University of Texas and received a master’s in biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. For his DDS degree, he attended the University of Southern California.
Over the years, he has taken many advanced continuing education hours focused on dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, sedation, sleep dentistry, and more. He has also completed many courses through Spear Education.
On top of this, he is a member of several professional organizations:
American Dental Association
Oklahoma Dental Association
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
Academy of General Dentistry
American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Salayta and his wife, Brigette, have a young daughter named Maya. His favorite thing to do is spend quality time with family, and he also likes to travel and explore new cities so he can immerse himself in unfamiliar surroundings, cultures, and cuisines. When he’s not on the go or helping patients, he is also a big fan of watching and playing soccer.
